Some Updates from the Cheesehouse
We wanted to take a moment to update you on what’s been going with the gang at Shisler’s Cheesehouse!
To say that the past few months have been interesting is a vast understatement. You haven’t heard from us for a while. And, we are grateful to say, it’s because we have been busy! We have been adjusting to the changing times and regulations and fulfilling the online orders and retail pick-ups from our loyal customers (That’s you!). We want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for keeping us moving with your loyal support through this crazy time!
Stranded in South America
When the COVID pandemic tensions rose in March, our fearless leader, Dennis Shisler was in Peru. Just four days into his trip, on March 15th, the Peruvian President proclaimed a 15-day mandatory quarantine, leaving Dennis and 2,600 other Americans stuck in Peru. You can read about his quarantine story in the full article from the Daily Record.

Dennis in Peru, prior to the lockdown
The article in the Daily Record concludes with Dennis’ plans to get back to Lima IF the quarantine was lifted after the 15 days. The end of the story goes a little something like this:
When it was safe, and legal, to leave the hotel, Dennis rode a bus for 17 hours from Arequipa to Lima to catch an embassy evacuation flight to Miami. Once he was finally back in the states, Dennis had to coordinate his own way back to Ohio and then quarantine for an additional 14 days in order to protect his mother, family and customers.
So, how do you spend 29 days in quarantine? Well, Dennis spent the majority of it dedicated to running the cheesehouse operations remotely. We have seen great success in online and call in orders despite the cancellation of tourism season and have gratefully remained OPEN for business!
Updated Hours and Operations
The store is currently open with some adjusted hours and we are promoting all methods of social distancing and mask wearing. Our in-store hours are currently 9am-5pm and we are accepting call ahead orders which we will deliver curbside if you would like to remain in your vehicle. We are complying with the state of Ohio’s mask mandate, but will not refuse service to anyone not wearing a mask. Online ordering is now, and always, a great way to get your favorite snacks delivered!

We want to again extend our THANK YOU’s to all of you who have continued your support over the past few months and we hope to see you all soon!
